OLOG eNewsletter Term 3 Week 10
Dear Parents and Caregivers
We again come to the end of another busy term. Thank you to all our parents and carers for your continued support throughout the term. On behalf of the staff, I would also like to thank you, our parents, for all the encouragement you give to your children as they come to school each day. When a family’s love and support is combined with the expert knowledge of teachers, it can have a significant and lasting impact: Children can be more likely to enjoy learning and to be motivated to do well. Children can have better relationships with other children, improved behaviour, and greater confidence. Children can do better at school and are more likely to not miss days at school as they are eager to learn and progress.
This week Learning Conversations have been held for our Year 6 students, whilst our new Receptions who commenced in July reflect and celebrate the achievements of their first term at school.
We have certainly had a busy term, with many exciting events and activities taking place. Our celebrations for St Dominics Day were a highlight. We have participated in a significant number of school events and activities: Book Week, Catholic Schools Open Week, Swimming Week, Father’s Day, School Disco, Sacramental Program, Debating, Child Protection Week, SAPSASA Athletics Carnival, Basketball and Netball Grand finals, SACPSSA Touch Football Carnival, Pop Up Playgroup, Parent Education Session, Enterprise Day, P&F Bunnings BBQ, Chess Club, Dance Club, combined School Board Meeting with St Mary’s Memorial and STEM.
These are some of the wonderful events that brought our community together and showcased the amazing talents, skills of our students. This cannot happen without the hard work and dedication of our staff, who go above and beyond to ensure that our students receive the best possible education and support, and as a Leadership Team, we are so grateful for their hard work. And of course, we want to thank our families for their ongoing support and partnership in the education of our students.
Thank you to our P&F and parents who supported the Bunnings barbeque last Saturday. We are grateful of the time to support the barbeque throughout the day. Feedback is that OLOG had the best sausages!
As we prepare to enter the final term of the year, I pray that we continue to work together to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive community that empowers our students to thrive and reach their full potential.
May God keep you and your family safe this school holiday season, until we meet again in Term Four on Monday 16th October.
Peace and Blessings

Back Packs 4 SA Kids
Acting out our Dominican Pillar of Service, the Student Voice Leaders have helped facilitate our Social Justice Initiative this term; Back Packs 4 SA Kids.
The backpacks/pencil cases are provided to help relieve some stress and anxiety children face when they are removed from their family, often in traumatic situations and without the opportunity to take any personal belongings with them.
Thank you for your generous donations of stationery items which the Student Voice Leaders are currently collating. We endeavour to deliver the filled pencil cases to drop off centre in Glenelg this Friday. This year we have 50 pencil cases to donate.
I wish all families have a wonderful holiday break and I look forward to seeing you all next term.
Joy and blessings,
Debbie Scuteri

Lucy Ryan achieved a 99/100 for her AMEB Grade 1 theory exam which has been her first theory exam ever completed.
Well doen to both Emily and Lucy for their achievements!
On Friday our Year 6 students hosted their Enterprise Day. The students have been working very hard this term to create products/games as part of their HASS topic (Business and Economics) where a business idea is developed, and students become mini entrepreneurs.
The students built a business idea, developed designs, identified their target audience and learnt how to market and advertise their products.
A total profit of $1,771.35 was raised on the day. All money raised will be donated to a charity chosen by the Year 6's.
Amazing effort by all involved!
Please join us on Saturday 14th October from 11:00am for a day at the races. All dad's are welcome!
