Little OLOG Transition

This week our Little OLOG children who are commencing Reception in Term 1 2022 completed their final transition visit. The OLOG transition program contains a mix of play based activities as well as some more structured tasks which help the children to develop their readiness for school.

The children begin to familiarize themselves with some of the routines as well as becoming familiar with their school surrounds and the staff they will be working with the following year. The children will also get the opportunity to meet their buddies and form friendships with other children.

Watch our garden grow

09.09.21

Our Green Team has sprung into action, we picked capsicum which was enjoyed by staff and visitors in their lunches.

They started with new potting soil and then replanted, we put in red & brown onions, basil, broccoli and finished the job by watering it in.

Many dirty hands make light work of gardening!

SACPSSA Touch Football Carnival

02.09.21

Touch Football is now one of the largest sports in Australia and is derived from the two rugby codes (League & Union).

With the skills of kicking and tackling removed, Touch Football is a fast, fluid and exciting game in its own right. Touch Football now boasts in excess of 400,000 members and over 500,000 children playing in school programs across Australia.

SACPSSA (SA Catholic Primary School Sports Association) conducts a Touch Football Carnival programme each year over four days, in Term 3.

A senior age group championship competition (Year 5/6 Boys and Girls) is offered on one of the carnival days (usually the Wednesday). All other competitions are focused on mass participation. The age group sections are Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 on all four days.

Participation Certificates can be downloaded from the SACPSSA website here.

The carnival will be held at Park 17, Touch SA Headquarters located corner of Greenhill Road and Beaumont Road.

Thursday 1st September was the carnival day for Our Lady of Grace School so our year 5 & 6 students with staff and some parent volunteers divided up into age group teams and spend a warm spring day competing against other schools.  We returned to OLOG happy, victorious and a bit tired!

Yr 5/6 Netball Grand Final

01.09.21

Our Lady of Grace Year 5/6 Netball team were undefeated in the 2021 season and faced off against Stella Maris Parish School in the Div 3 South West Region competition Grand Final on Wednesday 1st September 2021.

The game saw The OLOG Way stand out in our students who never gave up, played as hard as they could and celebrated their achievement to reach this final.  With the lead swapping constantly during the match and a lead of only 2 goals at any one time it was the match of the season.  When the final buzzer sounded it was SMPS by one goal, we congratulate them.

Thank you to our amazing players, coach, scorer and support staff and all that have watched, cheered and supported our team thoughout 2021.
